Self Care - Timesaver #1 for Career Women

MIND, BODY & SOLE⁣⁣

With all the demands on your time: work, family, friends, when do you have time for self care, beyond dropping in an exhausted heap and just being grateful to be able to stop?

Age may not be taking it's toll on you yet, but its a certainty that it will happen. How much of an impact it will have is entirely up to you. Which is why making time for you is important.

I thought I would put together some tips on how to optimize those small windows of time that you carve out (perhaps with tooth and nail) to take care of yourself.

This is Part 1 in a series, today it's all about those two things that get you where you want to go, your feet.

SOLE ⁣ Feet are probably one of your most neglected assets.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

"I get a pedicure every 2 weeks", you say.⁣⁣ And don't your feet feel wonderful directly after that pampering?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But then you ignore them for the next 2 weeks.⁣⁣ If you're a runner, walker, hiker, gym junkie or you are just constantly on the move, you are asking a lot of your feet. You need to give back to them.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Here is something quick and easy that you can do at home: ⁣⁣ Have you ever tried soaking your feet in apple cider vinegar (ACV)?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Now I'm not saying 100% apple cider vinegar but a cup of ACV in enough water in a container, which will accommodate your feet and cover them, for a 20 minute soak will do wonders.⁣⁣ ⁣You can buy portable foot spas from around $30 here in the US.

If you have calluses or pressure points from the type of exercise you do ? you will be amazed how a relatively gentle rub with a loofah or better still a loofah soap (I just happen to have one, click HERE) which will easily remove that dead skin after this soak.⁣ ⁣⁣ BODY

Considering that the largest pores of your skin are on the underside of your feet, up near your toes, and that it is now being proven that topical applications are more effective than ingesting, you will gain even more benefits. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Don't take my word for it, do your own research on the benefits of ACV.⁣⁣

For example, here is what Dr Axe has to say about it, just click on the pic below:

Once you learn the benefits of ACV you will be buying it by the gallon, like me.

Maximize this time even further, if the weather is nice, by taking this whole treatment outdoors and get your Vitamin D on and don't forget to take a bottle of water. How many birds have we downed now with one stone?

MIND

Sitting still for twenty minutes may be a challenge for some of you? So why not grab a motivational/self improvement type book or meditate. ⁣⁣

I'm currently reading the Slight Edge by Jeff Olson and I highly recommend it as a life changer. Here's a link to it on Amazon.

If you have a recommendation for a self improvement book please share it in the comments down below because once you've tried this Mind, Body & Sole routine I am positive you will be looking forward to the next one. It's always good to have a couple of books in easy reach.

As far as meditation goes, I find guided meditations help me a lot. Just search on YouTube, but to get you started quickly if you've not tried this before, here's one called "Compassionate Body Scan" led by Kayleigh Pleas, MAPP, Wellness & Positive Psychology Coach.

How do you feel about that for a very productive 20 minutes?

Let me know in the comments below if you give this a try.

Cheers,

Trish
