What's in your lip balm?

I was talking to a friend recently about making lip balms and she told me what her all time favorite lip balm was and that she paid $7.00 a tube for it. She then grabbed the lip balm in question and started to read out the ingredients to me. Turns out it has petroleum products in it and guess where that expensive lip balm is now? Yep, in the trash.

That's how strongly people feel about putting known carcinogens on their skin (lips).

Have you looked at the ingredients in your lip balm?

Why not use a lip balm that is only bringing goodness to your lips?

This week I've been stocking up with a range of lip balms that are full of good stuff, like shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, essential oils, beeswax, (there has to be some wax in lip balm to make it stay firm in the tube) and a Vegan lip balm made with Jojoba Wax instead of beeswax.

I did some research online and was amazed at what lip balms are going for, an example is L'Occitaine who charges $9 a tube and brags that it contains 10% shea butter. Ha ha! My turn to brag, my lip balms contain at least 30% shea butter (except in a couple where I've added other equally beneficial butters).

Rather than make average lip balms I have created our 'Lip Stuff Collection' using highly moisturizing and beneficial natural ingredients, including some unusual luxury stuff, so that you really are giving your lips a wonderful experience.

You can find them all in the Natural Skincare section of our Shop, just click HERE to go directly to them.

If you can't decide which flavor you would like then try our sampler set, which gives you 6 slimline tubes for the price of 5.

We need to protect our lips all year but winter especially as it really does take its toll on the poor little things.

Should I tell you the story about the time I ate fish lips in Malaysia?

I still have a mental image of fish swimming around with sucked in mouths cause they've lost their lips!.

And I wouldn't recommend them, they taste like flavorless gristle. But when one sees something like that on the menu, one just has to try them.
