These two soaps are made with a local NM craft beer, Scotch Ale by Quarter Celtic Brewing Co.

Usually when we make soap we mix the lye with water to create a solution that can then blend with the oils/butters. When making beer soap, we replace the water with beer. Don't worry, you can't smell the beer in the soap, that goes away through the saponification process.

Why use beer? The sugar content in beer creates more lather, which always feels wonderfully luxurious. We soapmakers get excited about lather! And using craft beers also means we are supporting fellow artisans.

  • CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Due to the glycerin naturally produced in soap, it draws moisture to itself, AKA it is a humectant. This means making sure that it has the chance to dry out when not in use. Please do not leave it sitting in a puddle of water when you have finished your bath or shower.

To get that extra mile, I have found that rubbing the soap onto a wash cloth makes it last a lot longer, which took a bit of training as I used to lather the soap directly on my skin.
